#Configuring a project with VCS for secret search

To use the Secrets module for a project with a VCS link, set the scan parameters on the project settings page in Settings -> Projects:

• Secrets scan schedule - the schedule for scanning for secrets (set by time and days of the week);
• Secrets engine configuration - the secrets engine configuration;
• Exclude from Secrets analysis - exclude this project from Secrets analysis;

The schedule and engine configuration are available in the project settings only after a repository and VCS are linked.
